Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej (now OnestiThe name of the company is Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 in an Olympic event. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi and later became the Romanian gymnastics coach, when she was only six years old. She began competing in the national junior championships in 1969 placing 13th and she was the winner in 1970. In 1972, in the communist nations' meet for junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she was awarded three medals of gold. In 1973 and 1974, she won the junior champion in all aspects. In addition, she won four gold and one silver medals at the first competition of her senior level which took place in the year 1975. This was her first time she competed as a senior. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976. She was the first woman in history to complete a backward double salto as dismounting from the uneven parallel bars. The journey into the entertainment business started in her teen years when she began performing as a figure skater along with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business during her teenage years. When she was a young girl Carol started out as a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They had ice-skating performances that included theatre performances.
