April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, started taking piano and guitar lessons from seven years old. The passion for creating songs was sparked. April Lockhart wrote her first song, Different at the age twelve years old. The year she turned 14 was when she spent a lot of her time writing song ideas and practicing her musical skills. Then, she began to take trips in NY and LA together with her father in order for them both write songs. April also began incorporating other relevant topics into the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart has become a sought-after lifestyle influencer as well as having partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated an impressive fan base. She was born without a left hand. This creates her unique. It's not the only characteristic of her. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook her disability. It also doesn't insist on her disability. What message is it trying to convey? There is more to us than the physical person we are. The identities we have are complex and include a myriad of dimensions. It's not my intention to let that define me I don't want to be a disability influencer in which I only discuss because there are other aspects to me. Lockhart states in video form from her home in Nashville. My day-today life is not dependent on it. I lead a normal daily life, and come up with my own solutions to issues. The same is true for my personality, and it's something that needs to be addressed. Lockhart who is an motivation for self-acceptance generally she is on a long process to attain it. Still she admits she's gone through periods of being uncomfortable with her body, at times, not being confident in wearing specific types of clothes which showed the arms of her. She now wears whatever she'd like. And she posts her photos on social networks. She says that self-love is a process. It's not clear whether you'll get to the final stage. The same is true for everybody regardless of their levels of anxiety. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand you and see through your eyes are the most important people to remind you of what you're concerned about.
