Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on August 9, 1976. She is the fourth child in the family. Her parents, a dentist along with a teacher, recognized and backed her passion for acting and theatre from a young age which superseded an initial desire to become a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. Early success and a rapid growth in popularity was a sign of her development as an actor. When she completed her studies in 1998 she took part in the French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before launching her acting career fully. Tautou, who attended the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and was a student there in high school, has disavowed her Catholic education. Alongside her acting career, Tautou pursued modelling and was the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. The photography of her is also a love of hers and she has been exhibiting her work at the Arles festival under the name Superficial. Her photographs focuses a lot on celebrities and fame. The camera's focus is to journalists, who have sat and watched the actress following her sudden fame. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame when she landed her debut role as the lead role in The Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie was a worldwide box office hit, receiving accolades in award ceremonies all over the globe. The film is still the highest-grossing French film on the market in US. In the years following the film, she appeared in many films ranging from British films to Jean Pierre Jeunet's long Sunday de Faancailles. She then moved to Hollywood and appeared alongside Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code.
